The studio apartments designed for single residents in São Paulo were carefully planned to offer comfortable living space  and even the possibility of hosting friends.

The clients invest in rental properties, and on a 10x25m lot we developed a mixed-use project: a three-story building with commercial space on the ground floor and residential units to accommodate the 19m² studio apartments.The idea for the studios came from the location  the lot sits near a university with full-day courses.

The challenge was: how do we create a functional living space within a compact, dorm-style footprint?

Smart Solutions for a 19m² Home

The key to making the 19m² layout work was custom cabinetry: built-in closets, shelves, and a neutral color palette to create a sense of openness.
With small yet strategic design choices, we transformed the compact space into a cozy and highly functional environment.

The living room seamlessly turns into a bedroom — simply open the sofa bed.
In front of it, a wooden panel holds the TV. The white marble kitchen countertop aligns with the wood tones of the study desk, which doubles as a dining surface.

Each apartment includes a private bathroom, and the building offers a shared laundry area designed to be practical and enjoyable for all residents.

Although the studios were originally planned for student rentals, the layout also appeals to anyone looking for a compact, well-designed apartment.
